What is the Community Advisory Board?
The Community Advisory Board (CAB) for Homelessness is a 16 member body of representatives from diverse community organizations, which makes recommendations how resources from the Federal Government’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy are invested in our community. Since 2000, the HPS and its predecessor program have invested $4.8 million in our community leveraging an additional $9.2 million in support. The Community Advisory Board:
- Publishes a Crisis Contact Brochure

- Publishes a Resource Guide of Services in Brandon. The resource guide is also available in pdf format here.
- Established Benevolent Fund at the 7th St Centre with the financial support of local churches
- Created a Community Action Plan to address homelessness in Brandon
- Provides free awareness building Workshops related to homelessness
